Weekly picks: Martin Library Celebrity Auction
Autographed memorabilia is all about the feeling of connection.
The Martin Library Celebrity Auction makes those connections for patrons every year, putting hundreds of autographed items up for bid. The pieces come from familiar names in movies, music, literature, politics and sports.
The proceeds help patrons make another connection, too — with children in the local community. Money from the fundraiser buys books for the children’s collection at the library, which helps children cultivate literacy and a love for reading that will help them later in life.
Learn all about the celebrity auction in the York Weekend feature story.
And if you want to bid, head to the library, 159 E. Market St., York, for the preview at noon Sunday, March 25, and the auction starting at 1 p.m.
