If you’ve never seen Fiddler on the Roof — on film or stage — what are you waiting for?
A stage production of the much-beloved musical family drama will allow Yorkers to share the joys and sorrows of life among Russian Jews at the beginning of the 20th century. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St., York.
Tickets are $47-$71. A pre-show dinner at 5:30 p.m. is available for an additional $38.

The Latin American Cultural Club will host a Dominican Independence Day celebration at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Valencia Ballroom, 142 N. George St., York.
The event will feature Dominican history, culture and cuisine and a variety of musical acts, including Grupo Exito, Drago and others. The fun will last until midnight. Attendees are encouraged to dress up and avoid hats, T-shirts and sneakers.

Could it be I’m falling in love?
R&B hitmakers The Spinners will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center, 50 N. George St., York. The surviving original members of the group, which formed in the 1950s, and some more recent additions will perform classics including “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” and “Working My Way Back to You.”

Christian-based alt rock group Switchfoot is coming to York. The band has a new album out, Vice Verses, in addition to previous hits familiar to mainstream audiences such as “Meant to Live” and “Dare You to Move.”
The band will play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center, 1031 Edgecomb Ave. on the Penn State York campus in Spring Garden Township.
Tickets are $36-$50 and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21.

Acoustic ensemble Vasen brings the rural Swedish tradition to America with a mix of rock, pop, classical and folk on a unique keyed fiddle at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York, 925 S. George St.
The band features Olov Johansson on nyckelharpa, Mikael Marin on viola and Roger Tallroth on guitar. The show is part of the Susquehanna Folk Music Society concert series.
