Marshmallow madness at Peeps & Co.

Posted on Aug 11, 2011 in Travel

Is there a food maniac in your house? The sort of person who special orders M&Ms or Jones Soda bottles with personalized messages, slaps Spam bumper stickers on the car or buys ironic T-shirts celebrating bacon as a food group?

When York Dispatch visuals editor Randy Flaum had a devoted aficionado of a particular sugary, squishy, marshmallow-y treat staying at his house recently, he headed south to Maryland to check out Peeps in their native habitat, the Peeps & Co. store at the National Harbor.

The candy shop is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.

For all the details, visit the official website or call (301) 749-5791.

The Buses and Baseball exhibit is open now and runs through Sept. 15 at the museum, 161 Museum Drive, Hershey.
